Exhaustion
October 1, 2009
This morning was pleasant. I didn’t do much. I enjoyed my bowl of Count Chocula as I watched Prey the Stars gameplay videoes. All the while I brainstormed the cynicism with which I would approach my article on the remake of Earthworm Jim. I mean, I loved that cartoon series as a kid, and even though I only played the game briefly, I liked it a lot. I even plan on downloading the game to my Wii. I just wish the next release was a sequel instead of a remake. I guess I’ll have to hold out on Earhtworm Jim 4 for quite some time. Damn Interplay and their lagginess!
I just finished writing out a study guide for my math class. I am not looking forward to tomorrow’s quiz at all. I think I’ll do better than last time based solely on the fact that I’m a bit more prepared and have actually devoted time to studying, but the teacher’s method is so mediocre and the book is so terribly worded that I haven’t gotten a complete grasp on the material. I can only hope I pull out a much better grade than I did on the last quiz. I’m tired of studying right now, though, so I’ll have to devote some more time to math tomorrow.
On a much lighter note, the weather continues to be nice. October weather came just a few days early, and that’s something I was really happy about. I’m looking forward to Halloween once again, even though I never do anything on that day. It’s just an overall enjoyable day for me. I’ll most likely do what I usually do: get a pizza, watch Halloween, and give out candy. It’s simple, and maybe a bit cliche, but I’m a creature of habit. I’ve had that same tradition for years now, and I don’t plan on changing it.
Stop Playing With My Delirium
September 29, 2009
I was curious to find out what concert I’d be working this weekend, so I did a quick search. Turns out it’s going to be a Ladyhawke concert. I hadn’t heard of this band prior to today, but after looking them up, I decided to give their music a listen. I found out there isn’t really a “they.” It’s basically a one-woman project (although she has bandmates for concerts). I listened to a few of her songs and really enjoyed them. I’m thinking of picking up the album this Saturday if they’re selling it at the merch stand. Either that or a shirt. I’d hate to take money out of my PS3 fund, but I like band merch, so…
The weather was cool today. It was nice. After weeks of scorching hot weather, some clouds and cold weather really hit the spot. I had been looking for a reason to wear my Earthbound jacket for a while now. Hopefully the weather stays like this for a while.
The Modest Mouse Experiment
September 12, 2009
I originally planned on conducting this half of my “experiment” yesterday, but due to my early work schedule, I was unable to. At least it gave The Hooters Experiment an extra day. But it’s pretty obvious that my Dark Star blog generated views due to the Modest Mouse tags. I guess writing about popular topics does help bring in readers. Good to know.
This will definitely be my last trivial blog. I call it trivial because there’s not as much substance in it as there is in my other blogs. I enjoy writing about things that go on in my life a lot more than conducting these social networking tests.
The Hooters Experiment
September 10, 2009
My last blog seemed to be my most visited blog to date. At first I could have sworn that it was because of the “Hooters” tag, but after analyzing my stats, it is apparent that my blog was visited more than any of my other blogs due to the tags relating to Modest Mouse. Interesting. Out of pure cuiosity, the only tag I’ll be posting for this blog is the “Hooters” tag. Tomorrow I will be conducting a similar experiment with Modest Mouse tags to see which rakes in more readers.
I started this blog to get a feel for what it’s like to do some daily writing. I never kept track of my stats because I didn’t really care if people were reading my content or not Thinking about it now, it would be nice to know that some people read my blog. A comment every now and then would also be much appreciated. Still, even though that would be nice, I can honestly say that I don’t post entries to generate readers. The main focus of this blog is to write on a nearly daily basis, and to record my thoughts.
The Heat’s Just Not What It Used to Be
August 30, 2009
I remember I used to love hot weather. The summer was my favorite season. I enjoyed going outside, spending some time just sitting on a lawn chair, and feeling the weather cool down as the evening rolled in. Now that I’ve been driving early when the heat is at its peak, I find myself sweaty, sticky, and frustrated. I just don’t enjoy the summer heat anymore. Maybe if my car had functioning air conditioning, I wouldn’t be so disgruntled about it.
I haven’t played Kingdom Hearts in the last few days. Instead, I started playing through Season Mode in HCTP again. I always have a lot of fun whenever I go back to that game. I’d say it’s my second favorite wrestling game of all time. That’s how awesome it is. I’m almost done with the season, though, so I should be returning to Disney and Square’s action RPG soon. Once I finish that game, it’s on to Indigo Prophecy. I think I’ll be starting that game sometime around October, and I’m looking forward to it. One game I need to finish is Metroid Prime. That game is so awesome, yet I always let myself get distracted with other games. The next time I start playing it, I’m going to play it all the way through. Then I’ll move on to the other two games in the series.
I spent a good amount of time on GameTrailers today just watching movies. I watched their latest anthology which was about Tomb Raider. I was smitten by the game’s opening theme almost immediately. I can add another game to my list of must-play games now. So many games, so little time and money. *Sigh…*
I’ve been spending less and less time on Myspace. There’s just not much on there to hold my interest for long. I log in, check to see if I received any comments or messages, I log out, and I disregard the site for the rest of the day. Even if I log in numerous times throughout the day, I don’t feel as enthusiastic about it as I once did. I remember how much I enjoyed that site when I first set up my account. It’s just gotten really boring lately.
Tomorrow’s Monday, and I still haven’t received my math textbook in the mail yet. I need that thing as soon as possible. Homework is due Tuesday, so without that textbook, I’ll already be screwed out of a handful of points. Situations like these are so stressful and frustrating. Hopefully I get that book tomorrow. I’ll have to do a ton of homework in one day, but at least I won’t need to rush on the day it’s due. Here’s hoping I get the damn thing in the mail tomorrow morning.
Forest Fires = Annoying Temperatures
August 29, 2009
It was unbearably hot yesterday, and today is no different. It looks like it’s going to be the same tomorrow. I try to stay cool by drinking fresh water, but with the temperature the way it is, my bottled water can only stay cool for so long before it’s at room temperature. Terrible…
I originally planned on publishing five articles this week, with one new article per day. There was really nothing to write about today, though. Still, four articles isn’t bad at all. I’ll shoot for five next week.
I won’t be working tomorrow night which is a drag because I like making money. Starting next Friday, though, I’ll be busy for about 10 weeks or so. It’s football season and I’ll be working some high school games. It’s going to be boring, but at least I’ll be making an additional $40-$50 a week. I plan on putting that money into my PS3 fund as well as my Christmas fund. Perhaps I’ll skip the day after Thanksgiving. Last year, I worked that day, and I ended up being uber exhausted.
I got through all of my GT updates today. It’s always so comforting whenever I get through all those updates. Of course it wasn’t long before I had a handful of updates added to my formerly-empty list. This time I plan on actually getting to those updates before anymore pile up on me. It’s bound to happen again, though. It always does.
