No More Functions
September 14, 2009
I’ve spent countless hours on countless homework assignments for my math class. It’s a very crappy feeling when you’re burnt out from doing homework at the end of the day and you know you’re not even close to being finished. I know that if I would have gotten that textbook earlier, I wouldn’t be where I am right now. Stupid online rental… I find comfort in the fact that after tonight I’ll be all caught up, and hopefully things get easier from this point on. Well, the subject matter may not get easier, but at least I’ll be caught up, so doing my assignments on time will be easier to accomplish. I have a quiz tomorrow, and I can’t say I’m looking forward to it. I’m not all that prepared, and I’ll be lucky if I score at least a C on the damn thing. The book’s no good and the teacher’s worse, so the odds are stacked against me. But it’s math, and I happen to be good at the subject, so I know I’ll do well in the long run.
One thing I’ll be looking forward to tomorrow is the Scribblenauts release for the DS. I’m pretty excited about that game, and I’m not going to let the annoyance that is my math class take away from that. I’ve been looking forward to that game for some time now, and it’s going to be so cool to finally get my hands on it. Hopefully the cute girl will be working at GameStop tomorrow. Haha
In an attempt to move forward with my gaming, I recently started playing Oni. I started this past Saturday, and I’ve managed to play a little everyday since then. It’s a fun game, and it’s a total throwback to the gaming scene of the early 2000s. I know I would have loved that game back when I barely got my PS2, but even now I am enjoying it a lot (because it reminds me of a simpler time in gaming and because it’s just a good game). I played the game for a short time on my old computer, but the controls were a mess. It feels good to finally be able to appreciate the game for what it is, a fun 3D beat ‘em up with some good third-person shooting elements. The controls don’t hold up all that well for today’s standards, but the game is both playable and enjoyable. I’ll likely continue playing the game in conjuction with Scribblenauts.
I almost forgot to mention the results of my Hooters/Modest Mouse Experiment blogs. I’ve been examining my stats for the past few days, and it is apparent that the tags that generated the most viewers for my blog were the Modest Mouse tags. Although my tests may seem trivial, it was interesting to find out that what drew people to my blog was music as opposed to breasts. I guess there is hope left for society after all. Maybe we’re not all sex-crazed maniacs.
The Hooters Experiment
September 10, 2009
My last blog seemed to be my most visited blog to date. At first I could have sworn that it was because of the “Hooters” tag, but after analyzing my stats, it is apparent that my blog was visited more than any of my other blogs due to the tags relating to Modest Mouse. Interesting. Out of pure cuiosity, the only tag I’ll be posting for this blog is the “Hooters” tag. Tomorrow I will be conducting a similar experiment with Modest Mouse tags to see which rakes in more readers.
I started this blog to get a feel for what it’s like to do some daily writing. I never kept track of my stats because I didn’t really care if people were reading my content or not Thinking about it now, it would be nice to know that some people read my blog. A comment every now and then would also be much appreciated. Still, even though that would be nice, I can honestly say that I don’t post entries to generate readers. The main focus of this blog is to write on a nearly daily basis, and to record my thoughts.
The Heat’s Just Not What It Used to Be
August 30, 2009
I remember I used to love hot weather. The summer was my favorite season. I enjoyed going outside, spending some time just sitting on a lawn chair, and feeling the weather cool down as the evening rolled in. Now that I’ve been driving early when the heat is at its peak, I find myself sweaty, sticky, and frustrated. I just don’t enjoy the summer heat anymore. Maybe if my car had functioning air conditioning, I wouldn’t be so disgruntled about it.
I haven’t played Kingdom Hearts in the last few days. Instead, I started playing through Season Mode in HCTP again. I always have a lot of fun whenever I go back to that game. I’d say it’s my second favorite wrestling game of all time. That’s how awesome it is. I’m almost done with the season, though, so I should be returning to Disney and Square’s action RPG soon. Once I finish that game, it’s on to Indigo Prophecy. I think I’ll be starting that game sometime around October, and I’m looking forward to it. One game I need to finish is Metroid Prime. That game is so awesome, yet I always let myself get distracted with other games. The next time I start playing it, I’m going to play it all the way through. Then I’ll move on to the other two games in the series.
I spent a good amount of time on GameTrailers today just watching movies. I watched their latest anthology which was about Tomb Raider. I was smitten by the game’s opening theme almost immediately. I can add another game to my list of must-play games now. So many games, so little time and money. *Sigh…*
I’ve been spending less and less time on Myspace. There’s just not much on there to hold my interest for long. I log in, check to see if I received any comments or messages, I log out, and I disregard the site for the rest of the day. Even if I log in numerous times throughout the day, I don’t feel as enthusiastic about it as I once did. I remember how much I enjoyed that site when I first set up my account. It’s just gotten really boring lately.
Tomorrow’s Monday, and I still haven’t received my math textbook in the mail yet. I need that thing as soon as possible. Homework is due Tuesday, so without that textbook, I’ll already be screwed out of a handful of points. Situations like these are so stressful and frustrating. Hopefully I get that book tomorrow. I’ll have to do a ton of homework in one day, but at least I won’t need to rush on the day it’s due. Here’s hoping I get the damn thing in the mail tomorrow morning.
Forest Fires = Annoying Temperatures
August 29, 2009
It was unbearably hot yesterday, and today is no different. It looks like it’s going to be the same tomorrow. I try to stay cool by drinking fresh water, but with the temperature the way it is, my bottled water can only stay cool for so long before it’s at room temperature. Terrible…
I originally planned on publishing five articles this week, with one new article per day. There was really nothing to write about today, though. Still, four articles isn’t bad at all. I’ll shoot for five next week.
I won’t be working tomorrow night which is a drag because I like making money. Starting next Friday, though, I’ll be busy for about 10 weeks or so. It’s football season and I’ll be working some high school games. It’s going to be boring, but at least I’ll be making an additional $40-$50 a week. I plan on putting that money into my PS3 fund as well as my Christmas fund. Perhaps I’ll skip the day after Thanksgiving. Last year, I worked that day, and I ended up being uber exhausted.
I got through all of my GT updates today. It’s always so comforting whenever I get through all those updates. Of course it wasn’t long before I had a handful of updates added to my formerly-empty list. This time I plan on actually getting to those updates before anymore pile up on me. It’s bound to happen again, though. It always does.
Too Angry to Fall Asleep
August 27, 2009
Despite my efforts to fall asleep before midnight, my annoyance with my mom got the best of me. It almost feels like I’m going to be staying up late tonight. Now, she’s trying to kiss my ass by making me a bean, cheese, and chorizo burrito. I’m pretty famished, and I’m not a jackass, so despite telling her repeatedly that I didn’t want anything to eat, I’m powerless to stop her, and I’ll probably give in once she puts the damn thing in front of me. Ugh…
I finished reading Batman: Cataclysm today. I really enjoyed the story, and I can’t wait to read No Man’s Land. Unfortunately, I probably won’t have the necessary funds to get that series until a few months from now. Who knows, now that I’ve gotten back into reading comic books, I’ll probably add No Man’s Land to my Christmas/birthday wishlist.
I only went running at the park once this week. Last week was nice; cloudy in the morning and average temperature in the day. This week has been way too hot for me to even feel like going running. I think today was the hottest day all summer. Hopefully it gets cooler tomorrow. Anyway, despite not going running at the park, I still work out at home, so everything’s still cool, and I still feel healthy. Once the weather starts getting fresh, I’ll probably feel like going running again.
I did a fair amount of catching up on GameTrailers today. I read a good handful of blogs and commented on most of them. I like seeing my updates go down to zero. It’s just somewhat…comforting. I wanted to read one or two more blogs a while ago, but damn GT is acting up. I can’t even sign into my account! Oh, well. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get through the rest of those updates.
Well, I guess I should go eat now. I have two burritos with my name on them. I lose yet another battle…
